We are proud to have been awarded the Woodland Trust Gold Award.  This Green Tree Schools initiative, which has seen more than 12,000 schools sign up since it was launched in 2008, offers the opportunity to bring the great outdoors, wildlife and green issues into the classroom.

Schools win awards for participating in green activities, which include tree planting, reducing carbon emissions and recycling. We have planted new trees in our school grounds  and in our local churchyard, visited local woods, held a competition to design Tree Guardians and joined in various other Woodland Trust activities.

We are now working towards the Platinum award!

The Winning Tree Guardian Designs – these will be displayed in the Secret Garden
